Description
Cloud migration is a critical step for modernizing our software applications and staying competitive. This talk will share our journey, challenges, and strategic plan for adopting cloud-native technologies. Our journey began with several proof-of-concepts to migrate our existing software applications to the cloud. Last summer, we gained significant momentum by establishing a strategic partnership with Microsoft. We now need a comprehensive cloud adoption strategy. Our goal is to offer more than 50 applications as software-as-a-service (SaaS) to our customers. This involves technical transformation and developing a viable business model for our SaaS products.
We face several challenges:
- A heterogeneous software portfolio
- Multiple business units and teams
- Different technology stacks
- Lack of knowledge of operating cloud-native applications
To address these challenges, we are focusing on:
- Cloud-Native Readiness: Preparing our company for cloud-native operations.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilizing IaC to manage and provision cloud resources consistently.
- Automation: Automating the deployment of our SaaS applications to ensure efficiency and reliability.
By tackling these challenges head-on, we aim to transform our software portfolio and offer robust, scalable SaaS solutions to our customers.
